Public Works Council Liaison

The Village of Point Venture Public Works Department is responsible for overseeing, maintaining and repairing the Village Roads and Right of Ways.  We work with CapMetro to receive money to help cover these costs.

2013 Road Project

For our 2013 Road Project we micro sealed portions of our primary and secondary transit streets within the Village; approximately 2 miles. The streets that were micro sealed are as follows: Venture Blvd North, Venture Blvd South, Whispering Hollow, Whispering Hollow Circle, Deckhouse, Lakeridge Circle, Cascade, and Lakeshore Circle.

Viking Construction Inc. was the contractor to preform the work and their final bill was $129,382.80. We also contracted with Haynie Consulting, Inc. to prepare contract documents, assist with bidding and construction observation. We paid Haynie Consulting, Inc. $12,500 for their services. So our 2013 Road Project totaled $141, 882.80. However, the Village of Point Venture participates in CapMetro’s Building Central Texas program, so we received some moneys back from the county to help cover the expense.  We had requested that CapMetro pool our allotted funds for 2011, 2012 and 2013. We received a total of $88,134 from CapMetro ($29,378 per year). The Village of Point Venture was responsible for the remaining balance of $53,748.80.

If you would like any additional information regarding our 2013 Road Project please contact the Council Liaison listed above. We plan on asking CapMetro to bank 2-3 more years of BCT funds so that we can save up to do another project around 2016.
